Manitoba Infrastructure will be doing some upgrades Friday at a busy Steinbach intersection.

Spokesperson Larry Halayko says at around 10 am, the traffic signals will go dark at the Highway 12 and Loewen Boulevard intersection. Halayko says this is necessary in order for crews to relocate a signal pole and replace a controller for the traffic signals.

"It's been in the works for some time," comments Halayko. "It's part of its regular maintenance upgrades as well as to improve the traffic detection at that intersection."

That means from about 10 am to 2 pm, RCMP will be directing traffic there.

"(We are) asking all motorists to take caution while driving through the area and with the crews working in the area," he says.
