One Taken To Hospital In Two Vehicle Collision On Brandt Street

Emergency crews were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at the corner of Brandt Street and Ellice Avenue Wednesday evening around 5:30 pm.

Steinbach Fire, Assistant Deputy Fire Chief Mike Penner says an SUV traveling north on Brandt Street was turning left at Ellice Avenue, but there was a lineup of vehicles coming when he pulled out into traffic and came into contact with a car traveling south.

Penner says there was only one occupant in each vehicle. "One patient is being transported to hospital for observation, the driver of the SUV was a refusal."

Penner notes Brandt Street, from First Street to Ellice Avenue was closed for about 20 minutes due to the collision, until the scene was cleared.
