Toys Days takes place in Steinbach Wednesday and Thursday to collect toys for Community Christmas. You are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy to our broadcast location at Canadian Tire. The toys will be placed in hampers to make sure every child receives a gift this Christmas.

Joanne Dyck is the toy coordinator for Community Christmas. She says there are two age categories where they often struggle to get enough toys.

"Right now, we're specifically looking for birth to age two as well as age ten and up, so that would be age ten to 17. For teens specifically, gift cards are always nice. Besides that, we just kind of say whatever you think a child would enjoy is good. We are looking for gifts in the $20 range."

Dyck says the need is huge again this Christmas as they expect upwards of 900 hampers will be going out. She adds they have had a trickle of toy donations so far.

"We've had some donations come in. We've already wrapped a few things but we're looking forward to a big influx of toys this week from the toy drive."
