A number of significant construction projects are set to get underway in the Town of Niverville over the next few weeks.

Mayor Myron Dyck says now that we are into summer, the projects they have been planning all throughout fall and winter can finally move forward.

Main Street sidewalk construction in 2017"We are going to be starting on the east side of town with 6th Avenue, its a three-year project. We are rebuilding the road, we did half of it last year, the second half of that will begin this year and then paving is scheduled for next year to complete that project. We did a sewer project on 3rd Street South and so we are going to be resurfacing that road."

Dyck says they will also be redoing a few blocks of sidewalk on Main Street, constructing new covered dugouts at the baseball diamonds, and doing some work on the wetlands area in Hespeler Park.

"We got notification from the province last year that the one cell that was previously a lagoon was now approved that we could start doing some beautification within it. We are going to break that berm down opening it up, it will add to the overall view of our Hespeler Park and we are going to be building some trails in there with some interpretive signage. We already have a timber-frame kiosk that was constructed last year at the trail-head."

Dyck says they are doing their best to minimize the impact that construction has on daily life in Niverville but notes it could still be a little inconvenient. He asks residents to be patient with construction workers in the community and be mindful of large equipment.
