The City of Steinbach has decided to postpone plans for its 2021 Canada Day celebration.

In a statement released by the City on Wednesday, it was noted that with less than a month to go, provincial public health restrictions are not anticipated to loosen up enough to allow this event to go ahead. Despite not being able to host an event on July 1st, the City is hopeful that restrictions will ease over the next few months and a celebration will be possible later this year.

The City remains committed to following all public health orders and guidelines. When those guidelines allow for a Canada Day celebration to take place safely, the city will consider setting a new date.

City Council and staff look forward to safely gathering together as a community in celebration.
