The city of Steinbach will be hosting an open house Tuesday where all of the city's capital plans and capital projects will be on display.

Capital projects include the performing arts centre, sidewalk and street repairs and utility improvements. Mayor Chris Goertzen says plans for these projects will be displayed in the atrium from 5 pm to 7 pm, allowing residents the chance to view them and provide feedback.

Then at 7 pm, the city will hold its financial plan public hearing.

Goertzen says the city doesn't normally do things in this way. Though it has held open houses for a variety of other projects in the past, he says usually the capital works plan will simply be presented at the public hearing. However, he says council feels it is important that residents get a chance to view the plans and ask questions.
