After 60 years, the Operations Manager for the RM of Ste. Anne says his crews have finally moved into a brand new facility.

“There was no real clean space and it was a very old, traditional Quonset hut,” says Kevin Medeiros of his old stomping grounds. Two years ago, Medeiros approached Ste. Anne Council, hopeful that they would recognize the need for a facility upgrade. Deputy Reeve Randy Eros says the concept was not a hard sell.

“The old shop was past its best before date,” he laughs. “It was without a proper lunchroom or washroom or the locker facilities that are contemporary requirements in any municipal shop.”

Over the past few years, ideas turned into conversations that gave birth to drawings which transformed into what is now a fully completed building sitting right next to the RM office building near the intersection of PR 210 and Traverse Road.

“I personally think this is a big deal,” he remarks, “and I think it will be good for many years to come.”
