A man from Kleefeld was taken to hospital Sunday morning after an accident in the garage.

Brooke Hiebert tells us that her husband Kyle was trying to fix their garage door opener when he cut his arm badly. STARS air ambulance was called to the scene at 10:36 am.

"He had lost some feeling in his hand, so they were worried about his hand and his arm," shares Hiebert.

According to Hiebert, STARS did an assessment and determined that it would be okay for him to be transferred to hospital by ground ambulance. He was taken to Bethesda Regional Health Centre in Steinbach.

"He's going to be fine," she adds.

Though the garage door fix was unrelated to last night's storm, Hiebert says their yard was not spared.

"We had some trees come down and we watched our trampoline fly away in the sky," she says. "Other than that, we are okay."
