Spring-like temperatures this weekend may cause unsafe driving conditions on country roads in the RM of Ste. Anne.

Reeve Art Bergmann says with warmer weather two weeks ago, some of the culverts were not able to allow water to flow because they were either frozen or snow packed. "So in some places, the roads were compromised with water or ice on the edges, so we've got barriers up and we're telling people to drive to the conditions."

Bergmann says some roads are in worse condition than others, and some roads won't be affected by warmer temperatures at all.

"It is March, we are not alarmed, and we won't be taking any kind of action because anything we do will be negated by the nighttime temperatures."

The sun in the last while, along with the salt and sand spread on roads this winter, has removed ice from most of the country roads. But Bergmann cautions drivers to respect road restrictions and to be mindful of changing road conditions on country roads.
