Here in Steinbach and area, we are forecast to receive between 5 and 10 centimetres by the time the snow ends sometime Wednesday night. Gusty north winds will blow the snow around.

Warnings
10:38 AM CDT Wednesday 10 October 2018
Snowfall warning in effect for:

Buffalo Point Res. and Northwest Angle Prov. Forest
R.M. of Piney incl. Sandilands and Sprague
Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected.

A low pressure system over the American Midwest is tracking northeast toward Lake Superior today. Snow from this system is falling over southeastern Manitoba, the eastern Dakotas, northern Minnesota, and northwestern Ontario.

In Manitoba, the heaviest snow will fall over the southeast corner of the province, with the Sprague area expecting total amounts of 10 to 15 cm by the time the snow tapers off overnight.

Current indications are that the surrounding areas of the Whiteshell and eastern Red River Valley will see lesser accumulations in the 5 to 10 cm range.

The city of Winnipeg will be very close to the edge of this system, with little or no snow in areas north and west of the city.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
