The Steinbach Fire department was called out Monday night to a potential fire at 287 Elm Avenue in Steinbach around 9:15.

Fire Chief Kel Toews gives the details.

"We were called to a possible structure fire, there was a smell of smoke in the building on Elm Avenue and upon investigation, we found it to be kids playing with a lighter."

Toews advises kids not to play with lighters but rather leave that to adults.
