A number of charges have been laid by Morris RCMP in relation to several break and enters and thefts.

RCMP say last week Sunday, January 14, at approximately 9:30 p.m. officers were notified of a suspicious person walking down a back lane carrying a wide variety of items. Officers located the female who matched the description and she provided police with a false name along with a reason for carrying the items in her possession. At this time she was released without arrest.

They add officers then followed-up on the story and began to investigate the area she was last seen. Officers then received information that the items she was carrying were stolen and they were able to establish her real identity.

The investigation led to a Search Warrant at a residence located on McMillan Street in Morris and resulted in evidence on several unsolved break and enters in the area.

RCMP say they have arrested and charged 42-year-old Jolene O'Bara with two counts of Possession of Property by Crime, two counts of Trafficking in Property by Crime, Identify Fraud, Theft Under, Mischief Under, Trespass at Night, Obstructing Justice, Resisting Arrest, and Failing to Comply with Probation. She was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Winnipeg today (Monday).

RCMP add the investigation continues.
