The reeve for the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie says he's hoping for a better spring in 2017 to allow funds to be allocated towards road projects.

Lewis Weiss says, "[We're hoping to] finish the rebuilding of the second mile of Carriere south and the plan we have set forward is 'til 2020, and finishing Loewen Boulevard is in there."

Weiss says council has discussed drainage projects for 2017 and are also looking forward to seeing phase one start on the lagoon project in the early spring.

"I'm happy to say we knocked [the cost of the lagoon project] down by about $4-million from the existing proposal. So, that's very exciting."

He adds council is also hoping to hold the line on the budget to avoid any tax increases.
