The Ecole Dugald School will be undergoing a very large expansion within the next year.

Education and Training Minister Ian Wishart made the announcement this week that a 19,392 square foot addition which includes six new classrooms and a new 5,600 square foot gym. He says the project will be supported through more than 92.4 million dollars in planned capital spending by the province in 2017 - 2018 for public infrastructure projects, prioritizing the health and safety of students and educators, and accommodating growth in enrolment.

Wishart notes phase two of the project will be the construction of a new 6,450 square foot, 74 seat stand-alone child care centre which will accommodate 20 infants and 54 preschool students.

He adds both projects are expected to be complete by December of 2018.
