The Mayor of Tache says feedback was generally positive Monday night as the municipality held a public hearing on its proposed new Zoning Bylaw. Robert Rivard says most people supported the changes although there were two presenters with concerns, both of them developers worried about the impact of the bylaw on their properties.

"We tried to explain to them, one of the properties especially, that he can still go forward with exactly what he had planned because it was already approved before the bylaw change. The other developer was hoping to get his property re-designated to give him more options. We told him that when we were renewing the bylaw, we didn't want to give more options to people than they had before."

Rivard adds the province also recommended a few changes in the wording of the bylaw. He says that will be done and then the document goes back to council for Second Reading and then to the province for review. Barring any formal objections, Rivard expects council to give final approval to the new Zning Bylaw this spring.
