The Niverville Post Office was broken into early Thursday morning.

The break-in was reported to St. Pierre RCMP at 6:20 a.m. Though officers arrived on scene quickly, the incident occurred in the early morning hours. Police says the suspect or suspects had forced the front door open and once inside, went through many items and tossed packages, parcels and other items all over the floor.

RCMP say Canada Post will have to complete an inventory check before they will know if any mail items were stolen.
