Two large Canadian flags, signed by hundreds of people from the community of Ste. Anne and the surrounding area were presented to the Larocque and Bram families last night as they prepare for their upcoming trip to the Olympics.

Both families leave on Saturday to go watch their daughters Jocelyne and Bailey compete for gold in women's hockey. Jocelyne’s father Andy Larocque says the community has been so good to the girls over the years as they pursued their dreams.

"Actually I was just talking to Jocelyne on the phone today and made it known to her that they were doing this again and for her and for Bailey, it’s bringing a little piece of Ste Anne out to the Olympics games and I know it’s really special for both the girls, they’re very excited."

Bailey’s parents Bill and Bonnie Bram say they're overwhelmed with the amount of support people from Ste Anne and the surrounding area have shown.

"We’re thrilled and I can’t believe the support of Ste Anne and the surrounding area, they’ve been awesome. We’re excited and we can’t wait to go see Bailey and pass it on to her. The whole town is backing us up so it’s unbelievable."

Larocque notes he's looking forward to the final gold medal game and hopes the girls will get there. He adds it's surreal to see not only one but the two athletes from Ste. Anne playing at the highest level.

"If I would have thought 20 years ago that this day would ever come, I’d probably say not but the community was very good to the girls and through their smart work and passion for the game of hockey, both on the Larocque side and the Bram side, you almost want to call them hockey powers. Making sure the girls got everything they needed to pursue their dreams and here we are today and we’re off to the Olympics to watch them both participate."

Jocelyne and Bailey's first game in Pyeongchang is on Sunday at 9 pm local time.
