Open Health Niverville has suspended walk-in appointments and is asking all patients to call the clinic if they require assistance.

The province agreeing to allow doctors to bill for virtual visits has helped the clinic assist patients while practicing social distancing.

“This is good for us,” says Mayor Myron Dyck, “it just further enhances the services that we might be able to provide.”

The effect of this implementation is that part-time clinicians who live outside of the town are now more easily swayed to offer their services.

“We’ve now asked if they could give us an extra two hours or four hours a week, or a half day somewhere to do video visits,” shares the Mayor.

Open Health’s Business Manager Kristen Fyfe notes that the clinic does not admit patients and that anyone experiencing respiratory issues should call Health Links Info.
