Aurora Borealis, or the Northern Lights, activity has been increasing in 2021.

Erin Williams took the photo (above) at around 11 P.M. on March 2, 2021 between Steinbach and Sarto.

According to Facebook.com/AuroraForecast, Tuesday evening saw a high level of activity.

Jordan Carruthers is the founder of Manitoba Storm Chasers and he says we've been moving into a new solar cycle and seeing more activity. The phenomenon is caused by solar flares coming off the sun. When the particles hit the atmosphere, it causes the blue/green ribbons of light.
