Updated plans for the proposed Niverville Community Resource Centre, formerly known as the multiplex, were shown to residents at an open house Wednesday evening.

Town Councillor Chris Wiebe is a member of the Community Resource Centre Building Committee. He says this is a project for the whole community so it is important that the whole community has a chance to get involved.

"The purpose of the evening is to show the community what is being proposed in the new CRC project, to get their input on anything we may have missed or any ideas that are out there to give us more direction on this new project. We want community input and to be really inclusive in our design."

Wiebe says the open house was very well attended and they were pleased to hear a lot of good questions from Niverville Residents. He notes a few particular aspects of the updated plans caught their attention.

"The design of the front elevation, it is a more modern fresh look for the community, they really like the concept of being connected to the new high school with all the opportunities that provides and it gives us opportunities to be a leader in this moving forward with the province, with the school and the resource centre combined."

Wiebe says they are now waiting for funding from the federal and provincial governments but in the meantime, their committee is working to ensure they have a substantial and attractive application.
