Niverville Town Council has approved a $79,000 expansion to their public works building.

Mayor Myron Dyck says the addition will include a much need staff room and meeting space.

"Right now the guys are eating their lunch in the warehouse, so you are fixing a truck and pulling up a chair beside your truck so they don't have any place to eat your lunch or for the manager to meet with his staff. Also for the guys and their gear, all their boots, their reflective vests and jackets and everything like that. They need storage to be able to put their gear."

Dyck says town council awarded the contract to Armada Construction based in Niverville. He notes the expansion is subject to the approval of the town budget which is set to happen in early April.
