The Town of Niverville awarded this year’s concrete contract to Armada Construction at a cost of just over $120,000.

Niverville Mayor Myron Dyck says there are a number of major projects that are set to get underway this year.

"Some of the sidewalk work that we are going to be doing this year is we have a few gaps along Sixth Avenue so we are looking to complete those gaps so that it is continual sidewalk, we are looking to do some work in front of our town office as well and then we are eliminating our salmon bump-outs on our Main Street."

Dyck explains the salmon or pink bump-outs are sections of sidewalk that protrude into Main Street to help section off the parking lanes and separate them from the rest of Main Street. He notes right now those sections of sidewalk are a salmon coloured stamped concrete and they will be replaced with concrete that is congruent with the rest of the sidewalk. He notes this is all a part of their ongoing sidewalk renewal project on Main Street.
