The Mayor of Niverville says town council has been excited to see new businesses pop up in Niverville over the last few months and they are happy to hear there is a strong workforce to pull from.

Myron Dyck says he recently attended the grand opening of The Great Canadian Dollar Store on the west end of Niverville and according to the owners they had around 120 applications to fill a dozen positions.

“This is encouraging for council. Our economic development strategy continues to want to attract businesses to our community and we then have some data where we can go to other employers and say there are people here that are willing to work so yes you shouldn't have a problem finding quality individuals to work for you.”

Travis Neufeld is a Part-Owner of the Great Canadian Dollar Store in Niverville. He says there were many quality applicants that they had to turn down simply because they had already filled the positions.

“I would say it was one of the stronger pools that we have worked with so far. We actually got some really good staff here in Niverville.”

Dyck notes economic development has been a high priority for Niverville Town Council so this is very good news.
