A Niverville resident was sprayed with bear mace by thieves earlier this week.

RCMP Sergeant Paul Manaigre reports the man was sprayed while approaching the occupants of a black truck, stolen from Winnipeg, who were attempting to open his vehicle.

The man was treated on scene by Emergency Medical Services at around 3:30 am on August 17th.

At approximately 8:00 am, a complaint of a stolen Ford Escape was made and later recovered in Winnipeg.

In addition, a bicycle and wallet, which was taken from an open vehicle, also went missing on Monday.

Manaigre says it is believed the same suspects are involved in this incident and the investigations are ongoing.
