Niverville Collegiate Institute is celebrating the graduation of 43 students Wednesday.

Guidance counsellor Deanna Wiebe says this class is a diverse group of independent thinkers, "they're more of a mosaic than a melting pot. There's representation from all the classic high school realms; academics, arts, sports, and the socially minded."

Wiebe notes this class has so much potential to make a difference in the world and encourages each student to take the things they're passionate about and act on them in their adult lives.

Valedictorian Abigail Olfert quotes Abraham Lincoln and says 'Whatever you are, be a good one.'

"We may not be the kind of people who are going to grow up to be Einstein, Armstrong, or Oprah, but the world needs more than just those people. So often people, we tend to value jobs like doctors, lawyers, and teachers. We think those are the jobs to strive for, but we need people for everything and every job is important."

Olfert says, though she will not miss tests and deadlines, she will miss the constants of high school and being in an environment which has helped her learn and grow.

Graduation takes place on Wednesday at 4:00 at the Fourth Avenue Bible Church in Niverville.
