Niverville Town Council has been asking residents to give input as they get ready to put together their Vision 2030 plan.

Mayor Myron Dyck says this is a process that council goes through every 10 years.

"We essentially go through all the departments and then where do we see things going in the next 10 years and what should the priorities be? Last time we went through this when we did our 2020 vision back in 2009 we looked at 'what does this mean for seniors housing, what does it mean for healthcare, what does it mean for infrastructure?' And what would be the goals and then how do we achieve those goals?"

Dyck says their vision is then compiled into a document that can be used as a road map for future the current council and future councils during their annual planning sessions over the next 10 years. He notes as the role of council is to serve the residents who elected them, they have been asking Niverville residents to reach out and give input over the last few weeks.

"So this is another opportunity to have the residents of the community weigh in on what they would like to see in their community going forward in 10 years and what they would ask council to consider in that master plan. For those that have submitted their information, very much appreciated."

With the year 2020 right around the corner, Dyck says council is very pleased with what they have been able to complete from their Vision 2020 plan.

"You know we have checked an awful lot of the boxes. I can honestly say that we took the input very seriously, there was a very definitive thing in that day in terms of seniors housing and if you look at where we have gone with the PCH, with the life lease, and with all that was developed there which has become a true jewel in our community, that was with a very concerted effort."

Dyck says Niverville has a bright future and they want everyone to be a part of it.
