Half of 6th Avenue South in Niverville will be paved this year.

Niverville Mayor Myron Dyck says over the last two summers, the base of 6th Avenue South has been rebuilt and prepared for paving. He notes council has now awarded their annual paving contract.

"The award was for our 2019 road repair which includes the paving of 6th Avenue, the first half mile, that was awarded to Maple Leaf Construction for $286,000. So various patchwork through town, we are going to be paving the town office parking lot, and 6th Avenue, the north half mile."

Dyck says the south half of the mile is scheduled to be paved in 2020. He notes council was very pleased with the contract, noting paving costs came in about 15% lower then they were last year.
