Neustaedter trailed Funk by 482 votes. He says he really enjoyed going door to door during the campaign, adding it was a pleasure to meet so many wonderful people in Steinbach. He says he would like to thank his many volunteers and supporters.
"Thank you very much everybody that supported me at the polls, I really appreciate everybody coming out and voting. It is really good to see that we have a new mayor and my wife and I and our family, we wish Mayor Funk all the best and we congratulate him and his family."
Neustaedter says his campaign is an experience that he will take with him forever. Now that the election is over, he says it is time to rest and move on.
"We will find out what is next. Right now, I am just enjoying taking a rest this morning and I know that there will be more good things in store for me and we are at peace as a family and we are thankful for having the opportunity to run in the election."
