HSD Superintendent Randy Dueck says Niverville Collegiate Institute was placed in Hold and Secure following a threat made through social media Monday afternoon.

"It was a picture of an individual holding a gun and saying I am going to be coming to school this week."

Dueck says the RCMP were called in immediately and they currently have the suspect in custody.

The school was placed in Hold and Secure at around 3:30 PM on Monday and it was lifted around 4:15 PM.

Parents of students at the school are being advised that all students are safe and may be picked up at any time.

Buses have also resumed their regular transportation routes.
