Two young men from the area have had their motorcycles impounded after being caught in high-risk driving incidents.

Steinbach RCMP were on patrol Friday around 9 pm when they clocked a motorcycle travelling at 202 kilometres per hour in a 100 zone along Highway 52 between Steinbach and La Broquerie. That will cost the 21-year-old rider from Steinbach $1,385. He was issued a Serious Offence Notice and had his driver's license and bike seized.

About two hours later, Steinbach RCMP witnessed another motorcyclist failing to stop at a stop sign in Steinbach, weave in and out of traffic, fail to stop at a red light at Highway 12 and Loewen Boulevard and then fail to stop at another stop sign on Giesbrecht Street. The rider stopped at Ellice Avenue and Giesbrecht Street where RCMP were waiting for him.

The 20-year-old male resident of Steinbach has been charged with Drive Imprudently, Fail to Stop, Drive Carelessly, Drive Unregistered Motorcycle and Driving with an Invalid Licence.

A Serious Offence Notice was issued, and his license and motorcycle were seized.
