A lot has happened in Niverville since the start of 2018.

Mayor Myron Dyck says there is a long list of highlights but there are two major projects that really stood out.

“The start of construction of a new high school was a very big deal, the completion of getting a new water source to the community was the other very big deal. There are other things that happened but those are probably the two major things that occurred this year.”

Dyck says the announcement of the new Niverville High School was a lot earlier then they had hoped. He notes the life-lease wing of the Niverville Heritage Centre was also completed in 2018, and the town purchased the old Horizon Livestock building to replace their town office.

Dyck says over the last 12 months, there has also been quite a bit of commercial development in Niverville which is very exciting to see.

“You never know what developers commercially are thinking and how they view Niverville so to see existing business also investing in their own business in the community as well as new business coming and investing in the community, very excited about that.”

Dyck says, all in all, 2018 was a big year for Niverville.

“Much thanks to staff for all the work they've done and to all of the investors that have been willing to invest in our community, it has been great.”
