There is a huge dairy barn fire underway Monday morning just northeast of Steinbach.

The alarm came in just before 5:00 a.m. for an address along the north side of Clear Springs Road, several miles east of Highway #12 near Quarry Oaks Golf Course.

The Steinbach Fire Department called in assistance from the La Broquerie and Ste. Anne Fire Departments as well as water tanker crews from Blumenort, New Bothwell and Giroux.

At least four buildings are on fire and there is word that some animals may be trapped inside.
