David Nelson has announced he is running for a councillor position in the upcoming Town of Ste. Anne election.

Nelson and his wife operate the Ste. Anne General Facebook page, something that, he notes, is just one indicator of his connection to the community. He suggests his management experience as well as his time spent on the Ste. Anne community and soccer boards, would also prove to be beneficial if he got the position.

“I’m not a politician,” Nelson states, “so I feel I’ll be a good representative of the people because I am one of the people. If I can do anything to make this town better I am happy to do it.”

Nelson notes he is a big supporter of recreation and youth programs, and that getting everyone, including kids, involved within the community is important. “I’m also big on communications,” mentions Nelson, “and I believe that anything that can be in public should be.” Nelson indicates if he were to achieve a councillor position he would seek to make the public increasingly aware of what goes on in council meetings.
