An investigation has been launched into a reported break in at the Canada Post office in Steinbach.

A number of mailboxes in the lobby were pried open and damaged. Canada Post says they are in the process of making repairs as quickly as possible. They advise those affected that if their mailbox is not immediately repaired, their mail can be collected at the post office with government issued ID.

Canada Post says the matter is under investigation by Steinbach RCMP. Anyone who believes they have not received a particular piece of mail should contact the sender.

They encourage people concerned about identification fraud, to call the Canadian Anti-fraud Centre at 705-494-3182.
