Local musician, Robb Nash, was invested into The Order of Manitoba Thursday afternoon.

The order acknowledges individuals who have made an outstanding impact on their Province by positively influencing the well-being of Manitoba and its residents.

Says Nash, “I've been told it's the highest honor you can get in the Province, which is quite remarkable. Sometimes you just don’t think, when you’re a little kid from Kleefeld Manitoba, that anyone knows who you are”.

Nash notes he is receiving this recognition for the work he has accomplished through his tours. The goal behind his music and motivational speaking is to help young people overcome mental illness, addiction, suicidal thoughts, and other difficult struggles.

Nash claims that his upbringing from Kleefeld has given him a soft spot for small towns: “When we do this tour we don’t just try and do the major cities, we try and get every community we can involved. Whether you're from a big city or a small town or a reserve, your story could help somebody else through their darkest days.”

This career of motivation began quite simply. Nash explains, “When I had that big car accident when I was 17 I got a second chance at life and thought: why not try something crazy?” Yesterday, his whim of "trying something crazy” resulted in provincial accolades.

As one of only twelve people who was invested into the Order of Manitoba, Nash says he is amazed that the Province has taken such special notice of him. He hopes this award will open more doors and is excited about the future opportunities.
