The taxes in the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie will see an increase.

On a home valued at $250,000 residents in the Village of La Broquerie will see an increase of $167.51, whereas residents living in the rural area, with the same home value, will see an increase of 45¢.

Reeve Lewis Weiss says council worked hard to chisel down the numbers where they were happy with the end result.

"There is an increase for the LUD. I was assured that the LUD representatives were fine with it and, I suspect, they have some projects they want to get finished. But as far as the rural goes, we've basically held the line the same."

Capital projects the municipality are looking at for the next year include paving a portion of Carriere Road and Gerard Tetrault, working on Loewen Boulevard, and paving the arena parking lot. Also working on the municipal lagoon expansion, play structure at Marchand Community Club, and a generator for lift station #2.
