After media discovered a 6' 3" steer named Dozer at Kismet Creek Farm near Steinbach last week, the animal sanctuary has achieved international recognition.

According to farm owner Raelle Schoenrock, Steinbach Online was the first news outlet to reach out to the farm. By the second day, many organizations across North America had made inquiries. On day three, Schoenrock says the situation became overwhelming.

“I woke up to at least a dozen messages from places as far away as Holland, Norway, Japan, and Germany.” Schoenrock adds that she was even contacted by Australia, the home of ‘Knickers’ another steer recently brought to fame because of its size.

“Within three days our steer ‘Dozer’ was a household name internationally,” exclaims Schoenrock who says that she never expected things to blow up this big.

One byproduct of this spontaneous fame is a larger than average volume of people calling to offer their animals to the farm. While Schoenrock is grateful for the interest, she says the sanctuary only takes in farm animals and even then only on a case-by-case basis. What they do is specialized.

y has to offer.
