The RM of Hanover is again urging its residents to ensure their weeping tile water is disconnected from municipal sewer lines.

When heavy rains deluged the municipality in late April, Hanover's Manager of Engineering and Utilities kindly asked residents to reduce their wastewater if at all possible. What Rob Driedger was referring to, is limiting the weeping tile or groundwater that is entering their sewer systems.

Driedger explains that most new homes in the municipality should be disconnected from the wastewater system when it comes to weeping tiles. This water should discharge onto the homeowner's lot, where it can reabsorb into the ground. However, there are some older homes that have double valves. This gives the ability to allow weeping tile water to go into the wastewater system.

ile other residents are intentionally ignoring the municipality's request.

He notes this is happening throughout Hanover, but there seem to be quite a few offenders in Grunthal.
