The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has released more details regarding the helicopter incident in Steinbach Saturday morning.

Local emergency services responded to a reported helicopter crash at Steinbach North Airport at 8:24 A.M. Saturday. Chris Krepski is a spokesperson for the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. He says the helicopter in question was home built.

"What happened was the aircraft's rotors started to turn, at some point the aircraft rolled over on its side. The two people aboard exited the helicopter without injuries, however, there was a post-incident fire and the aircraft was destroyed by that fire."

Krepski says Steinbach RCMP and the Steinbach Fire Departments responded to the incident. He notes the Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been made aware of the incident, however, they will not investigate the matter any further.
