The fourth candidate for Mayor in the Town of Ste. Anne says he would like to see a community centre built in the next few years.

Simard has been a resident of the town for over 45 years and says there are no large halls for people to get together for family gatherings, weddings or funerals and other events of that nature. He notes because of his past experience on council one of the assets he brings to the table is long-term community planning and community growth.

"To have more houses and more people move into the community, you also have to bring business into your community," says Simard noting that is one thing he would like to strive towards; attracting more businesses into Ste. Anne.

On that same note, Simard says one of his goals would be to see a grocery store or a strip mall be built in Ste. Anne to help keep the economy within the town and create jobs.

Simard explains he would also like to see the winter carnival come back to Ste. Anne.
