Warmer temperatures and melting snow have been causing flooding issues in the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie.

Excess water has flowed over the road on East End Drive and wandered into resident's backyards.
Public Works supervisor Ron Kowalchuk says crews have been busy as water filled up ditches, started flowing onto roads, and invaded resident's yards.

"Right now there's quite a bit of water building up in some of the ditches, it's backing up and culverts are still frozen. So, we're going along with the steamer opening up the culverts that need to be opened and also cleaning out the ditches of snow."

Kowalchuk says Tuesday and Wednesday crews focused on areas such as East End Estates, half a mile east of Hirschfeld Road, and Ekron-Oswald Road. He adds, barring another large snow storm, this small thaw before all the snow melts in spring will help put them in a better position.
