RCMP report several drivers were charged with drinking and driving infractions in Steinbach over the weekend.

At 12:01 a.m. Saturday, a-27 year-old female from Steinbach was stopped at a police checkstop on Highway #52 west at Loewen Boulevard. She was given a 72-hour suspension for a blood alcohol level above .05.

At 12:20 a.m. Saturday, a 31-year-old male from the Blumenort area was stopped on Highway #52 west. Police say he was found to have a blood-alcohol level above .08 and was charged with impaired driving.

At 4:45 a.m. Saturday, a vehicle was stopped on Highway #12 in Steinbach. An 18-year-old female from St. Adolphe was given a 7-day suspension.

And on Sunday at 1:10 a.m., a 21-year-old male from the RM of Springfield was stopped on Mckenzie Avenue. He was handed a 72-hour suspension.

RCMP also report the highway patrol unit nabbed a drunk driver but no further details are currently available.
