The Steinbach Fire Department was called to a fire inside a house on Rosewood Drive in Steinbach around 12:30 Sunday afternoon.

Steinbach Deputy Fire Chief Ron Chausse says the fire department conducted a full interior attack inside the home.

"We have had a working fire here. We do believe we have the cause, it was in an aquarium area. A significant amount of smoke damage to the house here but the fire is out. We are conducting a little bit of an overhaul and we will do some further investigating here."

Chausse says they do not believe there was any structural damage to the house but there was heavy smoke damage. He notes they do not yet have a cost estimate for the damages.
