Two men from Brandon allegedly committed numerous crimes in the southeast, only to then call 911 after they got lost.

Steinbach RCMP were notified June 11th that a theft had occurred in the 100 block of Highway 12. Staff from the store were able to observe the license plate of the suspects' vehicle, which was stolen from Brandon.

Sprague RCMP quickly determined these same men had also allegedly committed six "grab and dash" thefts and Break and Enters in the Rural Municipality of Piney.

The stolen vehicle was located but had been lit on fire by the suspects. Police undertook an extensive search in the dense bush but could not locate the two men.

But at 9:30 pm on June 11th, RCMP received a 911 call from the suspects indicating they were lost in the bush. Steinbach and Sprague RCMP, with the help of Civil Air Search And Rescue Association, searched the area and located 23-year-old Harley David Jordan from Brandon.

The second man, 32-year-old Lionel Joseph Leonard Young from Brandon illegally entered the United States where he allegedly continued his crime spree. Young was located by several residents there and held until United States Border Patrol showed up. He remains in custody facing numerous charges.

A province-wide arrest warrant has also been issued for Young, pending his release from U.S. custody.
