A woman was arrested on the weekend after driving in the wrong lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway and endangering police.

RCMP report the incident happened just after 3:30 Saturday morning, about one kilometre east of Richer. They say a motorist was travelling westward in the eastbound lanes. She failed to stop for officers who were heading eastbound with their flashing lights activated. Police were eventually able to stop her.

A 34-year-old woman from Winnipeg is charged with impaired driving. RCMP say tests showed she had twice the legal limit of alcohol in her bloodstream.
