Steinbach Family Resource Centre is under new leadership and the new Executive Director says she wants to continue with the vision the former director started.

Jo-Anne Dalton moved to Steinbach seven years ago with her family and has worked with EnVision for the past three and a half years. She explains Steinbach Family Resource is a great fit for her because she has a passion for children and early childhood development which she adds is what the centre is all about.

"We are here to provide for families and expecting families from conception all the way through to age six," says Dalton, "so that early childhood development that’s so crucial for children’s emotional and physical well being from everything from physical playing to nutrition to emotional and to the parents coping skills as they go through that kind of time in their child’s life."

Dalton has taken over from former director Vicki Olatundun but says she wants to continue down the same path Olatundun started in terms of developing their new Road Safety Play Park.

"Vicki had an amazing vision for our centre for the play park that’s now been completed at the centre which is just amazing," notes Dalton who explains Olatundun's vision extended beyond that in creating a Road safety program to educate kids as they use the park.

Dalton says a lot of her previous work was in the fundraising sector working for organizations like the Winnipeg Humane Society for 13 years, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and a personal care home in Winnipeg before moving to Steinbach.
