A single vehicle collision occurred shortly before 4:30 Friday afternoon on Highway 12 north and Provincial Road 311 going to Blumenort.

Steinbach Fire assistant chief Russ Reimer says the vehicle was heading southbound on Highway 12 and it appears to have lost control, veering into the west ditch where it struck a light post. The light from the light post fell to the ground from the high impact but did not fall on the vehicle. Damage to the vehicle is on the rear passenger quarter panel.

The driver was checked by EMS on scene.
