Construction In Niverville in early 2018It has been a very encouraging start to the construction season in Niverville.

In the first quarter of 2018, building permits have been pulled for 7 single-family homes, a 12-plex, and two 4-plexes for a total value of $3,725,000. Over the same period last year, there were 7 single-family housing starts for a total value of $3,200,000.

Niverville Mayor Myron Dyck says even though there have not been any non-residential building permits pulled so far this year, there are some encouraging projects in the works.

"I spoke with our economic development officer about the business park in general. We have seen a good number of lots, roughly two-thirds of phase one is sold and design is starting on phase two. We continue to look ahead at that and what other companies may bring, this is the start of the season so it is an exciting time."

Dyck says much of the growth in Niverville can be attributed to the hard work of local developers.

"We are very grateful for all developers that choose to invest in our community. We want the best for them, we want them to succeed. They are obviously in it to make a dollar, we appreciate that or they wouldn’t be here. We want to continue to be an environment whereby they continue to invest their dollars in Niverville."
