Crews from Steinbach Parks and Recreation are taking advantage of the warm weather and putting up Christmas lights along Main Street this Thursday afternoon.

After a cold, snowy start to fall, residents in the Southeast are being treated to warmer than normal temperatures Thursday afternoon. As of 3 P.M. Thursday, the mercury hit 23 degrees in Steinbach, exceeding the forecasted high of 21.

With the exception of Saturday's forecasted high of three degrees, Environment Canada is calling for temperatures to return to average over the next week, hovering around 10 degrees with sunshine.
