The Caisse Populaire branch in South Junction is shutting its doors.

Diane Bilodeau, Vice President of Marketing and Strategy says the official closing date is on March first of 2018 and the reason is due to the low volume of activity in the branch.

She notes, for the time being, it’s business as usual for their members.

"Right now the closure does not affect the members account in any way, it doesn’t change their members number, cheques, direct deposits, debit cards they can keep accessing any Caisse branch, ATM, online banking and telephone banking as they do normally and they will continue that after the branch closure as well."

Bilodeau says they understand this does affect the people of that community but adds they will be working with them to transition their accounts to their full-service branch in Ste Anne.
